Regional Contacts

In the past the YDF had identified one person from each dzongkhag (district) to be a YDF Focal person. In most cases, the person nominated was the District Education Officer or the head of a school. The terms of reference are as follows:

  • Be the contact person of the Dzongkhag (district) for the Youth Development Fund.
  • Review project proposals from any organization falling within his/her Dzongkhag (district) & provide feedback to the YDF.
  • Provide guidance & assistance to beneficiaries in the development of project proposals.
  • Monitor the progress and implementation of projects and verify reports sent by the project management to the YDF.
  • Initiate youth projects in the Dzongkhags (districts) that may be recreational, income generating or providing livelihood training.
  • Organize fundraising activities in their Dzongkhags (districts), which would, besides raising money for the YDF, also raise the awareness of the youth & community on youth issues of concern.
  • Mobilization of Y-VIA (Youth Volunteers in Action) in dzongkhags(districts).

YDF Focal Persons must to be actively involved in programmes/activities for the youth and should have the drive and interest in helping young people within their dzongkhags (districts) become contributing members of the community. As a volunteer, the person must be dedicated to the cause of youth in Bhutan.
